Jon Hardister
Jon Hardister was born and raised in Greensboro, NC. He is a graduate of Grimsley High School and Greensboro College, where he obtained a BA in Political Science.
After college, Jon worked as the Vice President for Marketing at First Carolina Mortgage. In 2012, he was elected to the NC House of Representatives, serving six terms before retiring in 2024. In 2016, he was elected by his peers to serve as the NC House Majority Whip, one of the top leadership positions in the NC General Assembly. Jon is the youngest and longest-serving NC House Majority Whip in state history.
Jon chaired several committees during his time in the NC House of Representatives, including Education – Universities, Appropriations – Education, and Appropriations – Capital. He has received several awards and recognitions for his work in the legislature.After leaving office, Jon was selected to serve as the President of TREBIC. His knowledge of state and local government, combined with his ability to collaborate with others and solve problems, made him a natural fit for the position. The Triad Business Journal designated Jon as one of their “Five to Watch” in their “Power 50 Leaders” ranking in the Triad shortly after Jon began his tenure at TREBIC.
In his spare time, Jon enjoys spending time with his family, working out, and playing guitar. He currently resides in Whitsett.

Kim Phillips is the Regulatory Affairs Director at TREBIC, bringing over nine years of experience in the housing and building industry. Her career has spanned development, property management, supplier partnerships, and industry advocacy. Starting as an administrative assistant, Kim has steadily advanced through a combination of strategic problem-solving, collaborative leadership, and a deep commitment to the industry.
Known for her ability to bridge internal operations with external engagement, Kim has built a reputation for aligning business objectives with regulatory requirements and community needs. She holds a bachelor’s degree in business from UNCG and has a proven track record of developing creative, resilient solutions—especially during complex challenges such as supply chain disruptions.
Today, Kim leads regulatory strategy and advocates for thoughtful, forward-looking policy on behalf of the building industry. She is passionate about fostering sustainable growth, supporting innovation, and ensuring that the industry continues to thrive through smart, collaborative leadership.
